This season, trade in your black stuff for gray. Although I was never particularly interested in the color gray, just because of how drab it looks, I’ve actually taken a liking to it this year. I’m not talking about the boring old gray in knits of sweaters, but gray accessories such as bags and shoes.

So how can you incorporate the new black into your wardrobe? Well first figure out what you need for this fall. A new pair of shoes? Grab a pair of cute gray pumps that you can wear with anything. A shiny gray pencil skirt always works well for the office, as well as a gray blazer.

For a more casual look, combine a pair of skinny jeans, thigh-high boots and a gray oversized bag and a gray fringe scarf, which is the hottest accessory this fall.

If you’re not feeling the whole gray thing, you can always go for silver or metallic colors which are also a big hit this fall. Don’t think of it as a boring color, but think of it as a step down from the never-ending black we see all the time. It’s time to take it down a notch!
