The cold weather is starting to settle in and there is no better time to hit the mall and start gathering your must-haves for the fall. This season it’s all about making a bold statement and these styles come directly from some of the hottest designers around, so don’t shy away from the unusual, but try to embrace it and wear it proudly! Here’s a preview to this fall’s fashion!

FLORALS

Florals are going to be sticking around a little longer and we will see a lot of that this season. Think vintage as well as modern florals with a twist! Pair up your favorite floral dress with a contemporary piece such as a striped cashmere or different textures. It’s all about the element of surprise here.

LACE

Lace has always been an haute-couture thing, as well as an old-fashioned staple of femininity and softness, but this year, lace comes with a roar! Pair up your favorite lace item (such as a dress or top) with an unexpected modern shape on top. Think cropped leather jackets and boy vests look amazing with a nice lace item.

PANTS

Yes that’s right pants are in this fall! Ok so pants are pants, but this fall it’s all about what looks good on YOUR body and not on the model’s body! So just because skinny jeans and high-waisted pants are in, does not mean you have to wear them! If boot cut if your thing, go for it! Never follow fashion down to a tee, but rather get inspired by it and see what works for you. If you have a petite frame and a lanky body, skinny jeans will do the trick. Wide-leg trousers look good on those with thicker thighs.

PURPLE

You’ve probably seen purple everywhere in stores this summer, and it’s going to continue throughout the fall. So weather you love it or hate it, it’s here to stay for yet another season! Purple is a very elegant color and deep tones of purple such as deep violets and lavenders look great on anyone. This color definetly captures the true essence of power and femininity.

PLAID

I have always loved plaid, and I’m sure excited that it’s finally back this fall! Although plaid tends to look a little masculine sometimes, this fall’s plaid are anything but! Masculine tweeds and plaids are being experimented on with feminine elements and witty mixes. So pair up your plaid skirt with a fitted blazer or a lace top.

TIERS

Tiers have always had a very feminine touch and this season they’re hotter than ever! Tier dress and tier tops are a huge comeback so make sure you pick up a piece or two! These soft ruffles create a lot of volume but make sure you pick an unusual color, just so you don’t look too innocent! So think darker colored tiers!

Fashion has now become art, so it’s no wonder that designers are approaching it from a different view every single time. This time around, the little black dress slims down so that it hugs your every curve. Boots are shoes are now works of art with studs and all sorts of shapes and textures. Chunky necklaces are a big thing this fall, so don’t be afraid to pick up a dramatic piece. Bags will be big and flashy this fall, with tons of detail too!
