A Quick Way to Touch up Your Roots

Posted on January 23rd, 2008 in Hair How-Tos by Aniela

There are many ways to touch up your roots these days starting with dyes and root touch ups, which are the most common. But if your roots grow in very fast and you don’t want to spend a ton of money on hair dye or you just don’t want to damage your hair, there is another way, believe it or not and it’s completely free!

So here is what you need to do if your hairline starts to look greasy or a little out of color! Get a big, fluffy makeup brush and dip it into a pot of loose powder. Of course, make sure to relatively match up the powder color to your hair color. Darker hair calls for darker powders while lighter hair requires lighter powder.

Tap the brush once on the back of your hand to remove excess, then dust it over your roots. It mops up oil and blends into your strands, so no one will know you didn’t shower or that you haven’t died your hair!

Of course this is only a temporary solution, but until you decide to dye your hair again or actually touch up your roots, it’s a fool proof way to make sure your hair looks its very best!
