Think about the damage your hair has gone through this past year. At least for most of us, it’s been through hell; blow-drying, straightening, perms, coloring, etc…the list goes on and on. Every product we use on our hair also has damaging effects, and therefore leaves the hair dry, weak and brittle.
The best way to get your hair back on track to its natural, healthy form is to start from the beginning. Follow this routine religiously for about a month, and I guarantee your hair will be back to its natural shine, and it will be as healthy as ever.
Start off by chopping off those split ends. I know it’s hard to say goodbye to those few extra inches that make your hair look soooo much longer, but trust me, it’ll be worth it in the end. Next, splurge on a good clarifying shampoo like Neutrogena. It will remove all the build up that’s been caused by all the other products.
Until your hair is back to its healthy state, try steering clear of any products such as mousse, hair spray, anti frizz, etc. Your hair needs a break. Also, it’s very important that you don’t use any chemicals on your hair. That means no perming or coloring.
This will be the hardest step of all, but very worth it. No blow-drying. No straightening. No curling. The heat puts major stress on your hair follicles, leaving them dry and brittle. Your hair needs to be left alone for a while and get hydrated again.

its hard to just stop blow drying, straightening etc is there a way you can get healthy hair and just limit your use by a little bit?
just try doing it as less as possible and use a deep conditioner once a week
no there isn’t….you going to be bald
hmm thts really hard and my hair is curly and i hate it but its soo difficult not straightening it.!(:
hmm, that’s gonna b hard! my hair is thick and wavy (ugh) this will be quite difficult!(:
My hair is very thick, coarse and curly.
I’ve straightened it every day for the past two years.
Tie it back in a bun or in a chunky plait for a month.
It can be difficult but yeah, put it up in a cute and a bit messy bun. :] It really does help the hair in the end. ;] Trust me.
I went on a holiday to spain in the summer and my mum accidently on purpose hid my straighteners and hair dryers. It was a night mare as my hair is really frizzy wavy and puffy ,so i tied my hair inn a pony tail and added a few fake hair ,and put a hat on.
Now im glad that she left my straighteners as my hair is so much more glossy now.
this really works my hair has been damaged and i didnt even know it my hair used to be curly and fried by straighting it so much now its goin back straight and shiny and healthy all by itself
ive been letting my hair dry without blowdrying and sometimes not even straightening it..but i find it really hard to not use any products if i am not doing these thingss..but i hav been noticing my hair is seeming more healthier(:! thanks!
hmmmm, well, i will most likely not be able to follow this one bit. i have thick & curly hair, which for most people is NOT fun to deal with :\ i usually take showers in the evening, let my hair dry overnight, then get up early and straiten it. everyday. fer like two and a half years now. i’m really young so my hair’s already taken it’s toll haha. but it’s still pretty healthy, all i do is wash my hair with 2-in-1 pantene shampoo, then use the actuall conditioner. if you leave them in your hair for five minutes EACH, then your hair stays pretty healthy. i don’t even use mousse or anything, the only downside is my hair takes anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour just to straiten, but i’ve learned to live with it
