8 Toothbrush Beauty Hacks

By Aniela / August 1, 2016

Your toothbrush is much more than just a toothbrush: it actually has hundreds of uses, so that's why I always keep a couple of old toothbrush (washed and disinfected of course), to maximize their beauty uses. These 8 toothbrush beauty hacks are easy to follow and might even save you money!

Best Toothbrush Beauty Hacks

#1. Tame Flyaways

Use an old toothbrush to control flyaways. Because the bristles of the toothbrush are so compacted, it acts as a tiny board bristle brush which is perfect for taming flyaway hair. Simply spray the toothbrush with hairspray, and comb any flyaways away.

#2. Tame Eyebrows

Don't waste money on expensive eyebrow brushes – your old toothbrush will work just as well! Just like with hair flyaways, a toothbrush sprayed with a little hairspray will tame wild eyebrows and keep them in place all day.

#3. Remove Self-Tanner

In a bowl, mix water, lemon juice, and baking soda to create a self-tanner removing paste. Then, dip your toothbrush in and start scrubbing away at any self-tanned spots you wish to remove. The toothbrush is hard enough on the spots, but soft enough on your skin.

#4. Lip Exfoliator

I love DIY lip exfoliators, but this is much faster – apply a moisturizing lip balm to your lips, and use a toothbrush to brush away. This will help remove dead skin cells, leaving you with soft, kissable lips.

#5. Clean Your Hair Dryer

Your hair dryer has A LOT of built up lint (just check it for yourself). All that build up lint will make your hair dryer work a lot less efficiently, but it is also a huge fire hazard. Use an old toothbrush to remove that lint and make sure to maintain it once a month.

#6. Tease Your Hair

Use a toothbrush to tease your hair instead of any other brush. I find that it works a lot better (especially for thin hair), and it won't pull your hair either!

#7. Remove Cuticles

Apply a cuticle remover oil to your cuticles, wait 1 minute, then use a toothbrush to scrub away. The cuticles will come off very easily and you won't be in pain either.
