Make Your Own Hairspray

Make your own hairspray right in your home with a few easy steps! If you like making your own cosmetics, then this is the recipe for you. Not only is it easy, but this hairspray will be made out of lemon and water so it’ll smell very fresh and citrusy.

You’ll need a lemon and some water to start off. Start by chopping up the lemon in a wooden bowl so that you don’t loose any of the juice.

Next, add the chopped lemon to to the water in top of a double boiler. Let the mixture simmer until the liquid has been reduced to half.

Strain the mixture through a fine silk cloth and pour it into a spray bottle. If necessary, add 1/2 cup of water to your mixture. Now all you have to do is spray the mixture into your hair and not worry about any harsh chemicals. It’s gentle enough to use every day, all day.

If you wish the preserve the mixture a little longer, add 1 oz. of Bay Rum. And for those with dry hair, use an orange instead of a lemon!
