Make Your Own Moisturizer

If you’re a girl on a budget like most of us are, it can be hard to keep up with our beauty products as things are getting more and mroe expensive with each day. So what’s a girl to do? You can pretty much make anything at home – all you need is a recipee! So here’s a recipee for a face moisturizer that you can make in the comfort of your own home. This moisturizer recipee will moisturize, soften the skin, and also works great as a makeup remover.

Here is what you need:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons mashed strawberries
  • 1-2 drops of Vitamin E oil (optional)

Start by mixing all of the oils together in a small bowl. Add in the mashed strawberries and finish off by adding the vitamin E oil if desired. This mixture will keep for weeks, just make sure you put it in a closed container in the refrigerator.

Hm. I appreciate you trying to give us a moisturizer, but this seems more like a facial mask than something you could leave on. I mean, strawberries on your face? The oils alone are moisturizing, the strawberries seem like they would make your face sticky and full of seeds. Also, it’s “recipe” not “recipee” – please use a spell checker.

    Thanks for your comment Diana.
This is actually a moisturizer/makeup remover and it works great. Feel free to try it, if not, that’s alright too :)

And we apologize for the misspelling…it was an obvious typo! Hope that didn’t bother you tooo much!

I like the recipe. I’m all about homemade because its all natural. Also the inclusion of coconut oil is perfect, because it is a proven skin softener. Strawberry is well known as an exfoliant, and coupled with the oil, the stickiness not a factor.

can we leave out the strawberries and use it as a lotion? I might make one like that and then make one that has strawberries in it.
