Removing Mascara Properly
-
I have had a request from a reader asking me if I could write a post about how to remove mascara the proper way, and I thought why not?! Mascara is an ugly little makeup tool is looks great, but rarely wants to come off…therefore you almost always have to take extra action to remove your mascara.
First of all, if you do have trouble removing mascara, please don’t use waterproof. Waterproof mascara will stay on for a while, and it is pretty difficult to remove.
For mascara, try staying away from cream makeup removers because they don’t really do the trick that well with mascara, but instead they just rub it in, and so it irritates the skin around the eye area.
The best product that I have tried so far is Lacome’s Big Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover. This product is especially designed just for the eye area, and it is extremely gentle. Not only that, but this liquid activates when it is shaken up to gently take away all of the makeup, including waterproof!
To do this the proper way, all you have to do is apply the liquid to a cotton ball or a cotton pad, and place it over the eye area. Hold for a few seconds, and then swipe gently. Never rub vigorously, as it can tear the skin.
