Get Rid of Brittle Nails
Brittle nails are a very common problem for most women. This happens because the nails have dried out to such a degree that they are just breaking or splitting off. Brittle nails are caused by a number of factors including metal nail files, cheap polish remover, and of course calcium shortage. Here are some tips to getting rid of brittle nails.
Start off by using nail polish removers no more than once a week. The harsh chemicals dry out our nails and leave them weak and brittle. Also, make sure you don’t cheap out on nail polish remover, because the cheaper they are, the harsher they are on your nails. Use nail polish removers that are oil based.
To give your nails some moisture, rub them on a weekly basis with castor oil. If you don’t have castor oil, use olive oil which is a great moisturizer for your nails.
Don’t wear nail polish all the time. It can be very grueling on your nails, leaving them brittle, discolored, and unhealthy. Take a break from your polish once in a while and just let them go solo. Rubbing your nails can also help by stimulating circulation and leaving your nails with a healthy glow.
Lastly, make sure you use a good nail file or emery board. Metal files are hard on your nails and can make them crack easily. Instead, use an emery board and make sure that you get a new one every few months or so.
