How to Wear Leg WarmersWinter finally crept up on us, and as much as we hate it, we know we need to keep ourselves warm but that doesn’t mean we still can’t look good! One of my favorite trends this season has got to be the leg warmers…and even though they were a big thing back in the 80s, they’re more modernized now so here’s how you can incorporate leg warmers into your wardrobe! With Tights I love love looove wearing tights with leg warmers – it looks absolutely adorable! Pair your leggings/tights with a warm sweater dress and your Uggs. Make sure you wear your leg warmers un...

Your Go-To Accessory: The ScarfIs it just me, or is the scarf not a super-versatile fashion item that seems to go with everything? I fell in love with scarves, and shawls when I was a little girl and saw my mom wearing all different kinds and colors. Since then, I’ve been a true scarf girl…with what I now like to call “my collection of scarves”…meaning there are just too many too count and I should probably give some away. But nevertheless, I can’t seem to part without them and for good reason too. For me at least, a scarf can do wonders for an otherwise boring outfit. And since I don...

Designer to Look Out For: Dinh BaI absolutely love reading about new designers and their recent accomplishments, but I especially enjoyed reading about designer Dinh Ba because he’s right here at home in Canada…more specifically Quebec. So who is this guy? Dinh Ba was immersed in fashion at a very young age, thanks to his mother who was an haute-couture designer in Vietnam. Ba came to Quebec with his parents at age 6 (his mom is Vietnamese and his dad is Indian). In less than one year he was already picking up his first needles and sewing alongside his mother. Eventually he graduated Lasalle College and worked fo...

How to Wear JeggingsWith the return of super skinny jeans and leggings this past couple of years, it’s no wonder the jeggings were invented. Jeggings are basically an exremely skinny jeans that look like leggings and are also weared like leggings. I have to say that in the beginning I was not a fan of the skinny jean or the legging, but as time went on, I came to embrace both, and now, it seems like I can’t even wear any other types of jeans but skinny. The problem with these slim types of bottoms is that they’re hard to dress. And jeggings especially, can be a little tricky. A Few Thumb Rules ...

The Neon Trend: Would You Wear It?Neon has made a comeback this year, as we’ve seen in on plenty of runways, and fortunately, it doesn’t remind us of the 80s too much. When I think of neon, it definitely brings me back to the 80s and early 90s…and I can’t say I loved the style. But this year, neon is a little different as designers are bringing it back with a touch of flare. So how can you incorporate neon into your wardrobe? Simple. Just wear one neon item at a time, and do it with good taste too. Start off nice and slow with a neon colored accessory such as a scarf, belt, or bag. Wear it with dark an...

Worst Trend: Masculine for WomenSo I was browsing through some magazines and sites, and found that menswear for women is in…a style which we’ve also seen make headways a few years ago. But I’m not sure it’s a trend I’d like to try…whatsoever. I mean some of the pieces they show are a little too masculine and why in the world would anyone want to wear their boyfriend’s blazer? Sounds to me like designers are running out of ideas. Sure, a vest is fine…and maybe a tie with a conservative/sexy ensemble still works, but wing-tip shoes and boyish pants? Not a chance. I’m a gir...

How to Wear PlaidYou’ve undoubtedly seen plaid styles all over the shelves this past summer and you’re more than likely going to see it in the fall as well. But most of us just think of lumberjacks whenever we see plaid and so because of that, it can be hard to incorporate it into our style. Here’s the 411 on how you can wear plaid successfully. Plaid Dress Don’t be afraid to wear something unconventional…it might just work for you! Plaid tunic dresses are very hot right now and you can wear one with a pair of tights or leggings and knee-high boots. Plaid Frilly Top Wear that ...

What’s Hot This FallSo it’s that time of the year again when we trade in our pretty little frock dresses for knee-high boots and tights, but not to worry, these fall styles will remind you of anything but winter. This fall’s collections are gearing more towards fun, edgy styles rather than bulky, bundled-up trends. So what’s on the agenda for this semester? Printed Dresses If you don’t have one, get one. Even if it’s still hot out, you can wear your printed dress with a pair of wedges and just trade them in for knee-high boots and tights when the colder weather hits. I love the fact ...
