There are many important factors and attributes when it comes to our skin, weather it’s the weather, our age, diet, or anything for that matter. One of the attributes that you probably didn’t know about is the ethnic background. Yes, your ethnic background has a lot to do with how your skin’s condition is.
Those with fair skin are usually Caucasian, and they take the most heat when it comes to skin care. Because the pigment is so light, the sun does a lot of dammage, therefore causing you to get sun spots and wrinkles much easier than darker skin. To keep your skin protected, make sure you always apply sunscreen before heading out the door. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser twice a day- tone, and moisturize in the morning and at night. Don’t forget to exfoliate once or twice a week to get rid of all the dead skin cells.
Those with medium skin are usually of East Asian, Latin, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean descent. Because of the darker skin tone, the sun doesn’t do that much dammage, and wrinkles come at a later time. However, medium skin is prone to enlarged pores and breakouts because of the oil glands. Use a salicylic-acid wash to get rid of your breakouts on a regular basis. To minimize the look of your pores, use a mattyfier under your sunscreen and makeup. Because of the amount of melanin in medium skin, there is also a higher concentration of hair follicles, so you may wrestle with some unwanted facial hair.
Those with dark skin are usually of African and Indian descent. Needles to say, you’re the luckiest because the skin is very protecting against the UV rays. The pigmentation also provides camouflage against redness and cellulite. Unfortunately, acne scars are a bummer for you. To keep your skin in tip top shape, wash twice a day with a powerful acne wash, and apply an anti-scar cream to your face every night before going to bed.
