How to Get Sexy Waves for Every Hair Type

It’s all about beautiful wavy hair this season, so don’t hesitate a moment when it comes to getting your hair wavy, because no matter what your hair type is, you can make it happen. Keep reading to see how to get sexy waves for your hair type.

Thick Wavy HairThick Hair

Try not to go for tight curls with thick hair since it came make your mane look droopy and heavy. Instead, stick to weightless, airy waves and curls. Start off by letting your hair air-dry to prevent friziness. You may apply an anti-frizz serum or cream. When your hair is about 50% dry, blow-dry it with a difusser. Start by curling random sections with a large barrel-iron, leaving out the ends so they bend in different directions and give you some bounce. Flip your head over, and brush out your hair lightly until you have subtle waves. If you have any flyaways, spray some hairspray into your palm and run it over your hair.

Medium Wavy HairMedium Hair

Midweight hair can take all kinds of styles, but sleek spirals that actually twist away from your face are what’s hot right now.  Start by washing your hair and applying a smooth spray all over to minimize frizz. Start by blowdrying. Once you’re finished, loosely wrap 1-inch sections of your hair around a medium-sized barrel curling iron starting at chin level. Hold the iron vertically as you twist it clockwise to create coils that fold into your mane. Once you’ve done your entire head, gently rake your fingers through your hair and shake it out so everything settles into piecey strands.

Thin Wavy HairFine Hair

If you have thin hair, don’t worry about getting waves all throughout your hair. Instead, concentrate more on the ends. Start by blowdrying the top portion of your hair, from your cheekbones up. Leave the bottom slightly damp and coil it into a tight bun. Blast with your blowdryer until it is completely dry. Undo the bun and finish off with a light hairspray. You can use your fingers to separate the curls for even more volume.

I have naturally straight fine hair, it does nothing, or wont hold anything.
I am tired of the straight look with the hair.
I want girls and body and nice styles for when i go out. I was told getting a wave was my only hope.
Do you think thats a good idea or should i go for the full perm?
I want a big new change. Im growing my hair long, just cant decide if i should go for getting a wave or the full blown out perm.

for extra straight hair that wont hold anything you have to use hairspray befor you curl it. and once you have those tight curls, you can shake ur hair around and you should get the wavy affect.

and for curly hair you have to do a little straightning before u try to make it wavy if you dont want that crunch hair. it takes a lot more work than straight hair, but the end result is always very cute.

erin : my hairs like yours, its thick and just above shoulder length and completely flicks out at the bottom all the way around , its sooo annoying and 10 mins after i’ve straightened it – it starts to curve and flick again. when it was longer the flick would be at the same level but just on one side.

is there anyway for me to get curls , i’ve tried mouse and even keeping it scrunched in bobbles but it just flicks again and drops :(

A lot of hair types just don’t curly easily, so you might have to spend a little more time perfecting your curls. Try hot rollers or a curling iron, but if that’s too much and you’re just trying to get soft waves, use a texturizing spray and scrunch it in. Then, pile all of your hair on top of your head, secure with an elastic and let it sit like that for about 10 minutes. Release the bun and tousle it with your fingers. Let me know if this works for you!

My friend told me 2 wash my hair then without drying it put mousse and hairspray in and scrunch it then put your hair in a bun and go 2 sleep. when you wake up in the morning take your hair down and your hair should be wavy dont brush just pull ur fingers through a lil and you should be good 2 go! (Note:if you want wavy hair at the top of your head 2 then make a higher bun if you want curls at bottom of hair lower bun!)Hope this works! =)
