Make Your Own Toner

By Aniela / May 15, 2007

Toner is used to absorb any remaining dirt or oils on your skin. It refreshes your skin, as well as revitalizes it. Toner is an important part of your daily facial routine because it gets rid of all the impurities. Toner, in many ways, is one of the secrets to getting perfect skin. Here is an amazing recipe for the ultimate toner! Before starting, make sure you have the following ingredients:

2 Tablespoons fresh watermelon juice
1 Tablespoon vodka
2 Tablespoons witch hazel
2 Tablespoons distilled water

Start off by straining the watermelon juice to get rid of all the seeds and pieces of fruit. Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir. Make sure you stir well.

Pour the mixture into a tight-closing container, and make sure that's it's as clean as you can get it to be. After all, it is going on your face.

Now all you have to do to reap the benefits of this amazing at-home toner, is apply a small amount onto a cotton ball and apply to your face. It does wonders for your face!

Make sure to keep the mixture refrigerated in between uses. This will last about a week.

When I first looked at this I though you were going to talk about how to add alcohol into a watermelon for a nice summer treat 😉

Never thought about using things as you listed up top for makeup etc. But then again I’m male and I don’t tend to use toner and such!

Vodka? Alcohol is SO bad for your skin! While I’m assuming it’s being used as an astringent and preservative here, there’s already witch hazel working as an astringent. Try sing a blend of witch hazel and rose/lavender water. Balances, and refreshes the skin, without drying it out!
