This coconut shampoo recipe is super easy to make, the ingredients are readily available, and it's oh-so-good for your hair! No chemicals, no harsh cleansers, and no alcohol – just honest to goodness ingredients that your hair will just soak up. This recipe made my hair feel incredibly soft, shiny, and manageable. So here's how to make your own coconut shampoo.
How to Make Your Own Coconut Shampoo
You'll Need:
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 2/3 cup unscented castille soap
- 2 tsp vegetable glycerin
- 1 tsp jojoba oil
- 15-20 drops essential oil of your choice
The Drill:
In a mason jar or clean, empty shampoo bottle, mix all ingredients except for the essential oils. Then, add 15 to 20 drops of your favorite essential oil and stir gently. Mix with a wooden spoon or shake the shampoo bottle. Now you're ready to use your coconut shampoo!
Below are some essential oil combinations that you can use for different types of hair problems.
Dry Hair:
- 6 drops lavender
- 6 drops geranium
- 6 drops rosemary
Oily Hair:
- 5 drops rosemary
- 5 drops basil
- 5 drops peppermint
- 5 drops cypress
Dry Scalp:
- 5 drops rosemary
- 5 drops clary sage
- 5 drops tea tree
- 5 drops lemon lavender
For Shine:
- 10 drops rosemary
- 10 drops chamomille
