If there is one thing I really dislike it commercial facial toners. Those things are laden with a ton of chemicals that actually dry out your skin, not to mention a slew of other unpronounceable ingredients that are just horrible for your skin. That's why I love this DIY apple cider vinegar toner: it's good for your skin, it works better than commercial toners, it's dirt cheap to make, and the ingredients are 100% natural!
Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Toner
You'll Need:
- Raw, organic apple cider vinegar
- Filtered water
- Brewed herbal tea (optional)
- Essential oils such as tea tree, peppermint, lavender, etc (optional)
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner For Sensitive Skin:
Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 4 parts water.
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner For Normal Skin:
Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 2 parts water.
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner For Oily Skin:
Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 1 part water.
Optional Ingredients:
Brewed herbal tea: Use an herbal tea instead of filtered water. If you do this, make sure you keep the mixture in the fridge.
Essential oils: Add 1 drop of your choice of essential oil to 8oz of mixture. For example, tea tree oil is great for acne prone skin, while lavender is a calming and soothing oil.
Storage:
Keep the mixture in a clean, sealed jar, or bottle. If you're using filtered water, the toner can be kept at room temperature for a long period of time. If you're using tea, keep the mixture refrigerated.
To Use:
You can use this every morning and night after you've removed your makeup and washed your face. Pour a small amount of the toner onto a cotton ball and dab onto the face.
