When this happens, your skin feels tight, dry and can also become flaky. Some people call this winter skin, because during winter your skin loses 25% or more of its ability to hold moisture.

Winter cold is not the only cause of dry skin. Not drinking enough water, long baths and hot showers, indoor heat, not eating the right food and some clothes can cause your skin to dry too. #1. DIY Creamy Avocado Face mask

  • Half an avocado
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, purée the avocado and then add the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Mix until you make a paste.
  3. Try to use an old shirt before applying this mask to your face since it can be a bit messy if you are not careful.
  4. Gently apply to a clean face and neck.
  5. Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Wash off and follow up with a homemade moisturizer.

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. For an easier application, you can use ground oats.
  2. Mix well to create a thick paste and then gently apply to your clean face and neck.
  3. Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
  4. After 15-20 minutes, gently massage your skin to exfoliate, and then wash off.

  1. In a blender, place the cucumber and pulse until it’s watery.
  2. Add the aloe vera and pulse again to mix the ingredients.
  3. Gently apply the mix onto your clean face and neck massaging slowly.
  4. Sit back and relax until the mask dries on your face.
  5. Wash off and follow up with a DIY moisturizer.

Dry skin can be a tough thing to deal with, especially when putting on foundation – no one wants a dry, flaky complexion!
