Every girl knows that when it comes to her work wardrobe, she should probably always look the part and be in a professional attire. Sadly, that is not always the case. And not because of laziness or not being able to afford nice clothes, but because we don't distinguish work pieces from everyday pieces. You can actually create an entire work wardrobe with just a few must-have items and combine them to get difference outfits for every single day! So get out your pen and paper and start writing chica!
Work Wardbrobe Pieces You MUST Have
1. MUST-HAVE VERSATILE PIECES
Start by cleaning out your closet and differentiating between your work pieces and your casual pieces. Then, put the work pieces aside and start taking notes. You should have an all-season suit in a neutral color such as beige or black (pants, skirt and jacket!). Black trousers are always a must, so 2-3 pairs of those is more than enough! Button-down shirts are always a must, so make sure you have a few of those, as well as a few blouses, some work appropriate skirts and a shearling coat or a light trench. Top it off with a classic bag that you can have for a long long time and there is your work wardrobe!
2. DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH
You never want to spend too much on work clothes. You're there to work and make money, so spending your money on the place where you make your money is never a good idea. Instead, try mixing and matching different outfits and pieces to see what works together and write it down so you don't forget next time! Also a good idea is to purchase only a few high-quality items that will never go out of style and will last you for a long time too.
3. EXPAND YOUR WARDROBE
Add unique and interesting pieces to your wardrobe like wide-leg trousers, cardigans, and ruffled tops!
4. DO GET PRINTED TOPS
Tops with tiny prints on them are always a good idea because they lend some personality which is very important in the workplace, where you tend to get a little lost.
5. DO WEAR A DRESS
Knee-length dresses are always a good idea especially since you can wear them twice in one week. Just slip on a jacket or cardigan the second time and voila – 2 outfits in 1!
