Tips for Prevention

DIET

Eating lots of fruits will keep your most sensitive area protected and even give it a sweet smell. Too much meat will create an unfortunate stench.

SOAPS

When it comes to what you use in the shower, you want to choose a soap that is feminine friendly, meaning it balances pH and doesn’t have too many fragrances. Even though we may think more good smells means less bad ones, this area is actually really sensitive to strong scents and it can cause dryness, irritation and a harsh stench.

NO TO TIGHT CLOTHING

Tight clothing doesn’t let us breathe and can actually cause infections. Aim for cotton panties as they will allow for fresh air flow and wick away moisture caused by sweating and discharge.

Remedies:

  1. Change your underwear. Sometimes smell gets caught in our panties and wreak havoc on our noses. Make sure you change your underwear at least once a day or every time you shower.
  2. Essential oils while bathing- If you’ve got a stench that just won’t seem to budge, you can bathe in some essential oils. Tea tree oil and rose hip oil tend to work really well at eliminating bad bacteria and keeping the good ones.
  3. Consider medical treatment- Vaginal stench is generally caused by bad hygiene or infections. If you haven’t been able to get rid of it with any natural remedies or changes in daily life and it is accompanied by itching, redness or irritation, you may want to take trip to the doctors. They will provide you either topical treatments or anti/pro-biotics.

Of course your best bet in preventing and curing feminine smell would be to have good hygiene. This includes showering every day and before and after sex. This is important because bacteria flourishes in warm moist environments and sex brings many foreign elements which can cause infections that in turn create a traitorous odor.
