So a lot of people seemed to love the ‘How to Make Your Own Lip Gloss‘ post so I decided to share another favorite homemade lip gloss recipe with you which is just a little different than the other one and probably a little easier too. So here is how to make fruity lip gloss in the comfort of your own home.
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 Tbls solid shortening
1 Tbls fruit-flavored powdered drink mix
35 mm film container
Mix the shortening and the drink mix in a microwave safe bowl until it forms a smooth paste. Place the container in the microwave for about 30 seconds (until it forms to liquid). Pour the liquid into a clean film container and place in the fridge for about 20-30 minutes until it becomes firm.
And there you have it, your very own homemade fruity lip gloss. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it smells and tastes amazing!

what is shortening? I mean…i cant believe i dont know what this stuff is lol…im an amazing cook…yet i dont know what shortening is! oh and i have a question: you say put the shortening and drink mix into a microwave safe bowl and heat it up until it forms a smooth paste. then you say put it in the container and in the microwave until its a liquid. does it turn back into a liquid in the microwave?
