Well, this one's no exception: we all know bananas have great beauty benefits, especially when it comes to skin care. Bananas are packed full of essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients which feed the skin and imparts moisture. Bananas are extensively used all over the world for dry skin, aging skin, and acne prone skin.
Banana Face Mask for Dry Skin, Aging Skin, and Acne Prone Skin
Bananas have long been used as a natural homemade facial moisturizer and for good reason too! Packed with fats with hydrate dry, parched skin, and a whopping 20% vitamin B-6 which works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and scars. Vitamin C works to eradicate skin ailments such as acne, while the potassium in banana prevents future breakouts and dry skin. In fact, most people with dry skin as well as acne have a potassium deficiency, so using bananas on the skin as well as consuming them internally is a crucial step in fixing that problem.
- 1 medium banana
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp honey
The yogurt acts as a natural cleanser, but is also very effective at combating acne.
Honey is a natural anti-septic as well as a skin lightener, so it works great for aging skin, dark spots, and uneven skin tone.
- In a medium sized bowl, mash 1 medium banana using the back of a fork.
- Once mashed, add in your yogurt and honey and mix well.
- Apply all over face and leave and leave on for 25-30 minutes.
- Rinse off with warm water, pat dry, and follow up with a moisturizer.
You'll immediately notice softer, smoother, and brighter looking skin after just one application. Do continue to use the banana face mask on a regular basis (2-3 times a week), to clear skin of any blemishes, reduce dark spots, moisturize dry skin, and eliminate wrinkles.
