DIY Lush Oatifix Mask Recipe

By Aniela / July 12, 2017

Lush products are SO much fun and so good for your skin because you know they contain all natural ingredients. Unfortunately, they can be a little bit pricey, so we've emulated Lush's Oatifix face mask so you can make it at home for a fraction of the price. Of course it's always great to support a good company like Lush, but if you need to save for a bigger purchase (say a home or a car?), then maybe you should think about making your own DIY beauty recipes. This DIY Lush Oatifix mask recipe is easy to make, doesn't require a ton of ingredients, and will leave your skin absolutely glowing!

Lush's version of this face mask boasts bananas, oatmeal, vanilla, and almonds, as their main ingredients. There are also a few fragrances in there, as well as preservatives, which we wont' need to ad. The Oatifix mask also contains some other obscure ingredients such as illipe butter which we also won't be using. Basically, we're taking only the major ingredients and making a one-time use mask that's comprised entirely of natural, fresh ingredients!

You'll Need:

  • Half a banana
  • A handful of oatmeal
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Drizzle of honey
  • a few drops of vanilla essential oil

Directions:

  1. Throw all ingredients into a blender or food processor and process until the mask becomes a thick paste-like consistency.
  2. Add more olive oil and honey as you see fit. Basically, the mask needs to stay on your face without dripping.
  3. Apply to a clean face and neck using your fingertips.
  4. Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse with water water.

Your skin will feel so silky smooth and bright, you'll wanna use this mask all the time, but only use it twice a week! The oats are a great exfoliating component, getting rid of all the dead skin cells and revealing super bright, glowing skin. The banana cleanses skin, shrinks pores, and hydrates. The olive oil acts as an emollient but also hydrates, so this mask is great for those with dry skin.
