A Refreshing Recipe for Parched Hair

By Aniela / March 7, 2009

Winter weather can have a dire effect on your hair, leaving it dry, limp and lifeless. For dry, parched hair, it is recommended that you use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner but sometimes, even that's not enough. And even during the summer, your locks tend to dry out, especially if you're in the pool alot…the chlorine attacks your hair like nothing else. So here is one of my favorite at home recipes for parched hair.

A Refreshing Recipe for Parched HairOrange

Here's What You'll Need:

¼ cup club soda
¼ cup fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
¼ cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
¼ cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Drop of sage essential oil

Here's What You Do:

Take a clean spray bottle and mix the club soda, grapefruit juice, orange juice, and lemon juice in the bottle. If your hair is longer than shoulder-length, add an eighth of a cup more of each ingredient. Once you've mixed the juices, add in the sage essential oil and wet your hair thoroughly. Start spraying your hair with the mixture and comb through to distribute evenly. Leave on for 2-4 minutes and finish off with your usual shampoo and conditioner. To keep up the shine and moisture of your hair, repeat this step once every 2 weeks to keep dryness at bay.
