DIY Curly Spray For Waves and Curls

By Aniela / July 7, 2018

If you've ever been to the beach and gotten your hair wet in the ocean, you know the awesome waves your hair adapts once it dries and we wanted to replicate that exact look! Depending on your hair type, sea salt can completely change the look and texture of your hair, giving it beautiful soft waves or enhancing already curly hair. This DIY curly spray mimics what sea salt from the ocean does to your hair, and it only requires 3 simple ingredients!

This DIY curly spray takes minutes to make, and we guarantee you most likely already have all the ingredients at your disposal!

A quick word of warning though, because sea salt can be a little abrasive on the hair (especially thin hair) we don't recommend using the spray more than 2-3 times a week. Using the spray every single day can lead to dry and tangled hair.

We recommend using a hydrating hair mask the day after you use your DIY curly spray!

You'll Need:

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1-2 tsp coconut oil

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a small spray bottle and shake shake shake!
  2. Spray directly onto wet or dry hair. Play around with the spray and see which method works best for you.
  3. After spraying, crunch the hair with your fingers or blowdry using a diffuser to get waves and texture.
