We all know what do to in the shower, but what about what NOT to do in the shower? According to dermatologists and skin scare experts there actually are 6 things you should never, ever do in the shower. Read more to find out what those things are!
6 Things to Never, Ever Do in The Shower
#1. Over-Use Your Loofah
If you're loofah obsessed, you should take a step back. Loofahs are LOADED with germs and bacteria, and you're essential spreading those germs all over your body. Try to limit your loofah usage to 2-3 times a week instead of every day.
#2. Use Super Hot Water
Showering with super hot water feels good, but it's not so good for your skin. As tempting as it may seem, especially in the cold winter months, hot water actually dries up your skin leaving it flaky and itchy. Try to tone down on the hot water, and use luke-warm instead. You'll even feel more awake!
#3. Shower For Too Long
Unless you're taking cold showers, try to limit your hot shower to no more than 8 minutes per day. Standing in there for too long will make your skin dry and flaky, just like hot water does. In the end, you're only hurting your skin.
#4. Apply Shampoo To Partially Wet Hair
When it comes to shampooing your hair, make sure that your hair is fully wet first. If it's only partially wet, your shampoo won't lather and therefore will cause you to use more shampoo, which is a complete waste.
#5. Shave Your Legs on the Day of Your Pedicure
You might think that shaving your legs on the day you get a pedicure is a GOOD idea, but it's actually the complete opposite because this will leave your skin open to infections. Instead, shave your legs 1 or 2 days before your pedicure to avoid the risk of infection.
#6. Use Oily Products
I know it can be tempting to shave with coconut oil, but the truth is that using oily products in the shower is very dangerous. The oily substances on your shower floor mixed with water make for a very dangerous surface which you could easily slip on. Many people have hurt themselves because of this.
