#1. Water
This one is a no-brainer but most of us don't actually drink 8 glasses of water a day. It's extremely important to constantly stay hydrated, especially in the hot summer months, because water is oh-so important in the cell-renewal process. So before you try out any of the remedies below, start by drinking your 8 glasses a day!
#2. Lemon
Lemon has long been attributed to lightening of the skin and hair (remember the good old teenage days when we'd squeeze lemon into our hair?). Just squeeze a small amount of lemon juice onto the affected areas and leave on for about 15 minutes.
#3. Raw Potato
Simply rub a raw potato onto the affected area. Leave on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with cold water. The potato contains bleaching properties which are excellent at reducing the appearance of dark spots.
#4. Apple Cider Vinegar
As if apple cider vinegar wasn't already the hero of all home remedies, it also acts as an amazing dark spot eraser. Mix equal parts water with equal parts ACV and apply to affected areas using a cotton ball. You can leave it on all day, overnight, or just for 20 minutes before rinsing off.
#5. Turmeric
Turmeric has been used widely for different beauty regimens, and it just never stops! Mix turmeric with a little bit of water and honey to make a mask-like consistency. Apply to affected areas or over entire face and neck and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Not only does turmeric lighten the skin, but it also exfoliates and gets rid of oxidants.

The seeds in the strawberries also acts as a natural exfoliant, while the orange lightens dark spots.
