How to Fix Blotchy Skin

If you suffer from not-so-perfect skin (like moi!) you probably know the hardships you go through to get your skin looking presentable. Especially if you’ve ever suffered from acne, you know that the aftermath only leaves you with red, blotchy, uneven skin that can put a huge damper on your complexion.

Well, as I was a little bored last night I decided to whip up a homemade mask and I was looking particularly for something that would fix blotchy, uneven skin. And…I think I’ve found a new favorite! It’s easy, doesn’t require much and it WORKS!

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white
  • juice from half a lemon

Directions:

  1. Beat egg white and squeeze the juice from half a lemon. Mix well.
  2. Apply to cleansed face and neck.
  3. Leave on for 15 minutes or even overnight.
  4. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

I left mine on overnight just so I could see the full effects and I definitely saw an improvement the next morning. This recipe is great for blotchy skin because the lemon juice works as a bleaching agent so the redness subsides quickly.

For red, blotchy skin, I would suggest any sort of cream with hydro cortisone in it which helps to reduce redness.

    Hey Dawnlizabeth,

Well my first suggestion would be to go see a dermatologist or a doctor for a prescription. If you cannot do that, then I suggest doing a plain yogurt mask. Just slather some yogurt on your face and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. The yogurt is very soothing and will help with the redness. Good luck!
