DIY Carrot Face Mask Recipes + Benefits
Benefits of Carrots for the Skin:
- Contains vitamins A and K. Vitamin A &K are natural antioxidants and are also excellent vitamins for those with acne prone and oily skin.
- High in vitamin C, which helps to reduce dark spots, stains, and sun damage.
- Vitamin C also helps boost collagen production which keeps skin young and prevents wrinkles and fine lines.
- Reduces inflammation and irritation.
- Quickly reduces the appearance of acne scars.
- Contains potassium which helps keep skin hydrated.
- Beta-carotene helps with exfoliating by sloughing off dead skin cells, locking in moisture, and promoting new cell growth.
- Contains vitamin E to help in the production of new cells and also in keeping skin moisturized.
Carrot Face Mask for Acne Prone Skin:
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp carrot paste
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions:
- Boil a few cubes of carrot until they become tender.
- Then, mash the boiled carrot pieces with a fork until it becomes a paste-like consistency.
- Mix in with the honey and lemon and apply to a clean face.
- Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse off.
- Honey is a natural anti-bacterial which helps with acne, while the lemon juice fades acne scars and dark spots.
Carrot Face Mask for Scars and Dark Spots:
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp carrot paste (see first recipe for directions!)
- 1 tbsp sandalwood powder
- 1/2 tsp freshly squeeze lemon juice
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl and apply to a clean face.
- Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse off.
- Repeat 2-3 times a week.
- Sandalwood powder and lemon juice have natural lightening properties.
Carrot Face Mask for Dull Skin:
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp carrot paste (see first recipe for directions!)
- 1 tbsp yogurt
- 1/2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl and apply to a clean face.
- Leave on for 20-30 minutes and rinse off.
- Repeat 2-3 times a week.
- Yogurt is a natural exfoliant which leaves skin super bright.
